FIRE CAN DESTROY<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Fire destroys forests, pastures, homes, fields & livestocks.<\/li>\n
  • Fire kills people.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    FIRE PREVENTION<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Prepare fireguards early in March \/ April – June.(Fireguards must be more than 9 meters wide. You can do this by ploughing, harrowing or practising early – burning.)<\/li>\n
    • Use fireguards to protect your fields, pastures, homesteads as well as forests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      FIRE FIGHTING<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • Form fire-fighting teams in your communities.<\/li>\n
      • Put in place community fire alert systems (drums, whistles, bells).<\/li>\n
      • Fight it using tree branches, fire beaters, shovels, water bowsers, fire tanks.<\/li>\n
      • Report cases to Community Leadership, Forestry Commission, Zimbabwe Republic Police & EMA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        FIRE DANGER RATING<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • Know the danger or risk of fire spread before starting any fire.<\/li>\n
        • Means that it is safe to start a fire.<\/li>\n
        • Means that you can start a fire; but with caution.<\/li>\n
        • Means that you must not start open fires.<\/li>\n
