The Forestry Commission invites applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Tissue Culture Laboratory Technician, to be based at our Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and sterilization of culture media.
- Carry out aseptic transfer of explants and subculturing.
- Maintain and monitor cultures under controlled conditions.
- Keep accurate laboratory records and inventory of supplies.
- Support laboratory hygiene and quality control procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Diploma in Laboratory Science or related field.
- Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including Mathematics and a Science subject.
- Previous experience working in a biological or plant tissue culture laboratory will be an added advantage.
- Good communication skills, attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
